Job Description

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a dynamic and well-established commercial real estate company in Southwest Houston to find a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a background in commercial or multifamily real estate to contribute to a growing organization that values accuracy, accountability, and long-term growth. Retail commercial real estate experience preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial or multifamily real estate properties
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for assigned properties
  • Manage CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and tenant billings
  • Collaborate closely with property managers and asset management teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
  • Participate in audit preparation and support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in commercial or multifamily real estate
  • Strong understanding of property-level accounting, CAM reconciliations, and tenant lease structures
  • Retail commercial real estate experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (MRI, Yardi, or similar preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
